PYTHIA at Linear Colliders

Warning: this page was set up for the 1996 Linear Collider Workshop. It does not reflect the situation in 1998, when PYTHIA 6.1 is the preferred version. The structure of the main programs can be used to illustrate what to do in PYTHIA 6.1 also, however.

PYTHIA/JETSET is a general-purpose generator package for e+e-, ep and pp interactions. At a linear collider it could be used either for e+e-, e-gamma or gamma-gamma interactions.

The programs below are intended as simple examples of how to set up PYTHIA to generate some processes of interest for linear collider physics.

a description of beamstrahlung effects,
otained by a rather generic interface to the Circe program
a mixture of some standard processes
W+W- in mixed hadronic-leptonic mode
t-tbar pair production above threshold
SM Higgs production
H+H- charged Higgs production
Z' production
e-gamma DIS scatterings
high-pT jets in gamma-gamma
minimum bias events in gamma-gamma
